Phono Stage and Pier Amplifier

The PW1 – affectionately known as the “Phono Wizard” – is the work of Grimm co-founder Peter van Willenswaard. The phono stage is the most demanding job in all of audio, and the PW1 meets it with a deliberately pure, single-FET signal path and a custom, ultra-quiet linear power supply built right into the chassis. The result is at once transistor-quiet and valve-warm, revealing every nuance of your vinyl with an open, spacious and utterly natural presentation. Flexible MM and MC settings, with gain up to 77 dB, suit virtually any cartridge.

Joining it is the PA1, Grimm’s first standalone power amplifier. A monoblock of beautifully compact proportions, it reinvents the classic Class AB topology with a fully symmetrical output stage built from 96 fast power transistors for exceptionally wide bandwidth and rock-solid control. It produces 150 watts into 8 ohms (200 into 4) and drives even demanding loudspeakers with ease, combining the musicality of the finest tube amplifiers with the authority of the very best solid-state. Together, the PW1 and PA1 mark Grimm Audio’s confident move into analogue electronics – the same purity of thought that defined their digital products, now amplifying the music itself.
